This impressive marcasite specimen comes from the Kleeberg quarry near Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia. Crystal structure and appearance

The piece shows a dense aggregation of radiating to flaky marcasite crystals. Some crystals show the “cockscomb” formations typical of marcasite, which are particularly prized by collectors.
