Azurite & fluorite on matrix - Grube Clara, Oberwolfach, Black Forest, Germany

This aesthetically impressive piece comes from the famous Grube Clara in the Black Forest - one of the most famous and mineralogically diverse sites in Europe. The pit is famous for its enormous variety of secondary minerals, many of which are internationally coveted.

Combination of two classics

The specimen shows a fascinating combination of deep blue azurite and clear fluorite, embedded in a high-contrast matrix. The azurite crystallizes in small, intensely coloured rosettes or crusts, while the fluorite appears as cube-shaped crystals - transparent and with a fine sheen.

Color effect and aesthetics

The strong, royal blue azurite forms an intense visual contrast to the delicately tinted fluorite. This color effect is not only an aesthetic highlight, but also typical of finds from the Clara mine, where such combinations only form under ideal conditions.

A highlight for collectors of rare parageneses

Such combinations of azurite and fluorite are comparatively rare, even from the Clara mine, and are characterized by their colour intensity and mineralogical significance. This piece combines geological significance with aesthetic effect and is therefore a real enrichment for any sophisticated collection.
